Apple Pie Cheesecake

This Apple Pie Cheesecake recipe combines two of the best ingredients in the dessert world – apple pie and cheesecake!

Warning – it is not possible to eat just one piece!

Ingredients for Apple Pie Cheesecake
CRUST: Flaky Homemade Pie Crust is good but a pre-made pie crust works with it. If you are making a homemade pie crust, use a ceramic pie plate and there is no need to bake the crust in advance.

APPLE: The best apples you can use for baking include Honey Crisp or Granny Smith. Apples should be peeled and cut.

CHEESECAKE: Like a homemade cheese cake, this layer requires only 4 ingredients. Cream cheese, vanilla, sugar, and eggs. Just mix and pour.

DIFFERENCES: Sprinkle a few pecans, then drizzle with this simple homemade caramel sauce. Or, use ice cream! Skip the top layer and use apple crumble topping instead.

How to Make Apple Pie Cheesecake
Here’s a quick overview of the recipe below:

Make a Cheesecake Layer: Mix the cream cheese mixture and fill with the crust.
Make an Apple Mix: In a separate bowl, combine the apple filling. Gently place on top of the cheese cream mixture.
Add Crust: Top apples with a second pie crust.
Bake (according to each recipe below) and serve.

Tips for Perfection
Do not overcook the cream cheese mixture.
Make sure the apples are lightly chopped to cook.
Be sure to cut the slits on top of the crust to allow the smoke to escape.
To get a glossy crust, mix one egg with 1 teaspoon of water. Stir until combined and brush over the crust.
Depending on the size of the apple, you can sometimes overcook it, so place a plate of pie in a pan lined with leather to save my oven from any contamination.

Remaining Remaining
This one can be left in the fridge for 5 days. Cover only the cut part of the pie with a saran wrap. Covering the crust may make it sour.

This cheesecake can be frozen. Make sure it is cool before it freezes! Wrap it in plastic, and place it in a refrigerator bag. It will stay in the fridge for 6 months. Allow to thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
