This Crock Pot Mac and cheese is a family favorite! Elbow macaroni noodles are cooked lightly in a rich cheesy sauce.

Good as a holiday side and a favorite Sunday dinner. This simple mac and cheese recipe requires a few minutes of preparation and comes out with a perfect recipe all the time!

Why This Recipe Works
1. Past Cooked Pasta
Preparing pasta ensures it is perfect at all times. I checked out a bunch of “no mac mac and cheese” recipes (using uncooked pasta). Depending on the product, pasta can be mushy or gummy in captivity and I find it inconsistent.

Boil the macaroni for about 2 minutes below what is shown in your pocket (so it is very firm) keeping it from getting mushy.

2. Sauce Ingredients
I prefer crockpot macaroni without steamed milk or Velveeta cheese. While some of the ingredients in this recipe may seem strange, they really make an excellent sauce!

Traditional cream sauce or cheese sauce does not stick well in a slow motion, as the milk can bend and / or separate from the feeding pot.

The addition of mayonnaise sounds unusual and even if you don’t like mayonnaise, it works (as you can see in the reviews in this recipe below). Normal or simple mayonnaise (or dressing) will work.


And it’s a great way to save space in the oven for Thanksgiving dinner (which includes turkey and concentrate!) And cook this on the side.

How to make Crock Pot Mac with cheese

Boil the pasta for about 2 minutes under the packaging.
While the pasta is boiling, grate the sharp cheddar cheese.
Put all the ingredients in a slow cooker and cook according to the recipe below.

Tips for Perfection
Pasta – Do not overcook pasta, it should be very firm after boiling. Washing the pasta stops it from cooking.
Cheese – Separate the cheese from the block, pre-made cheese also does not work.
Cooking Time – Check out pasta early, slow cooks may vary.
Duplicate recipe – One set of this little mac cook cooked in a 4qt slow cooker. Cook over 2 1/2 hours, stirring after 1 hour and 2 hours. (When stirring, try to do it as soon as possible to keep the heat inside).


Do it in advance – To prepare this in advance, combine all the ingredients except the pasta. The pasta can be pre-cooked, cleaned and cooled. Combine pasta and sauce ingredients in a saucepan just before cooking.
Baking in the oven – If you prefer or if you are short on time, you can bake this in the oven (and I have a lot of time!) Preheat the oven to 350 ° F. Bake for 30 minutes covered and 30 minutes uncoated.
Note: Slow cooks can vary! You may need to adjust the timing of your slow cooker. If your Crock Pot Mac and cheese are made early, you can turn on your slow cooker to keep warm.
