Quick and easy breakfast
Although these egg cups are not exactly the same as the old omelet, they do have the same ingredients and flavors.

No extra dishes, bowls or even a pan! Cook microwave ovens in the same cup, using the same fork to scrape the eggs! How easy is that?
Just use one or two eggs and mix-ins and they are ready to serve!
These can be made with whole eggs or egg whites if selected.
What you need
EGGS The basis of any omelet are eggs. Feel free to use whole eggs, egg whites or even egg yolk if you like.

BUTTER Butter adds flavor to the omelet and creates a beautiful texture. Be sure to grease or sprinkle the dish, too, so that the egg does not stick.

ADD-INS My favorite cheddar cheese but you can add any vegetable or cooked meat you would like.

Many Additions
Cheese is an excellent ingredient, I love cheddar but actually any cheese you have is perfect for this recipe.
Add chopped peppers, bacon bits, chopped mushrooms, chopped tomatoes, chopped onions, or small cubes of ham.
If you are using vegetables such as peppers or mushrooms, put them in the microwave for about 20-30 seconds to cook them and remove some of the liquid.

Cooking times will vary depending on your microwave and the shape of the cup you choose. Check the omelette in advance or add extra time if needed.
Beat the eggs with a fork until they turn a pale yellow, you should not see any white pieces or crumbs.
Add a tablespoon or other amount of water or milk to make the eggs more fluffy.

Adding mix-ins when the eggs are slightly set helps to keep them from sinking to the bottom.
Like eggs cooked in the microwave, do not overcook. eggs will continue to cook once they have been removed from the microwave oven.
